Introduction

BNM Museum and Art Gallery takes your right to privacy in relation to the use of the App seriously and commits to protecting your personally identifiable information (“personal data”) in line with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 and other applicable personal data protection laws. This Privacy Policy deals with personal data that will be collected by this App and sets out BNM Museum and Art Gallery’s approach in handling personal data. This Privacy Policy applies to the personal data collected by BNM Museum and Art Gallery but does not apply to personal data collected by other entities that are not owned, controlled by or affiliated to Bank Negara Malaysia (“BNM”), nor does it apply to persons that are not employees or agents of BNM, or mobile applications that are not under the control of BNM.

Registration for a user account on this App requires the disclosure of your personal data including, but not limited to, name, address, mobile phone number and a valid email address. You are not required to provide any other information if you do not want to. The failure to supply your personal data as required during the registration may result in us being unable to continue to provide you with the services and/or products requested in the App or at BNM Museum and Art Gallery. Please be aware that the personal data that you provide and any other information you enter may render you personally identifiable and may possibly be displayed on this App intentionally (depending on choices you make during the registration process or on the way in which the App is configured) or unintentionally (subsequent to a successful act of intrusion by a third party).

By using this App or participating in any of our activities or programmes in BNM Museum and Art Gallery, or otherwise giving consent in particular circumstances, you consent to the collection, use, processing, transfer and disclosure of your personal data to BNM under the personal data protection laws applicable to you and you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy.

For visitors to the BNM Museum and Art Gallery, personal data will be collected prior to entry for identity verification and security purposes. BNM Museum and Art Gallery also operates CCTVs within its premises for the purpose of your safety as a visitor, crime prevention and crime detection.

BNM Museum and Art Gallery ensures the security of your personal data by taking appropriate security measures to preserve confidentiality of your personal data. In some instances, it is necessary for us to process sensitive or special categories of personal data such as racial or ethnic origin. In such case, we will apply additional care as required by the applicable personal data protection laws.

Retention of Personal Data

It is BNM Museum and Art Gallery's policy to retain personal data for as long as it is necessary for the purpose such personal data was collected, other purposes that are compatible with the original purpose and as required by the applicable laws. • object to BNM’s processing of your personal data;
• not be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing without human involvement where such decision may produce legal effects or significantly affect you.
• complain to the relevant personal data protection authority about our actions that may be in contravention of any personal data protection laws applicable to BNM’s processing of your personal data.

Where the personal data protection laws applicable to BNM’s processing of your personal data does not provide for a right or set out limitations and exemptions which we may rely on, we have the right to deny your request or allow such request at our discretion.

Editing or deleting your user account information

You are provided with the ability to edit the information stored in the App after the registration, by visiting your user account settings in the App. You can request that your user account to be deleted; to do so, please contact BNM Museum and Art Gallery at [infomuseum@bnm.gov.my] . If required by the applicable laws, your personal data that you have provided will continue to remain with BNM even after your user account is deleted.

Amendments to this Privacy Policy

Amendments may be made to this Privacy Policy from time to time. You will be notified of substantial amendments to this Privacy Policy either through the App and/or by email. Your continuing use of the App shall constitute your agreement to be bound by such amendments.
